Event: Rob Colclaser and Alison Hunt are visual artists who left engineering to pursue their artistic interests. Rob's fine art photography captures the light, form and color he sees in the world around him. Alison enjoys working with different media and techniques, and is currently focused on oil painting, both landscape and still life. They are married and live in Bolton, MA with their two misfit cats.

'My goal as an artist is to reveal the natural beauty of light and form as found in still life, landscape and lifeforms. I try to teach my students techniques to achieve this goal as well as encourage individual expression in their paintings.'

Event: Watch and join in as local fiber artist Nancy Dorian demonstrates the Serti silk painting technique. After a 15-year career in corporate interior design, her company now & ZEN art to wear emerged from the belief that joy comes from doing what you love. She creates one-of-a-kind wearable art garments using many different silk painting techniques, as well as Nuno Felting and Fiber Etching . Nancy teaches fiber arts at New England Felting Supply, WEBS, Holyoke Community College, Holyoke Creative Arts Center and her home studio. Her work has been featured in Preview Massachusetts Magazine and can be found at galleries and boutiques throughout the Pioneer Valley and on Nantucket.

Event: From humorous caricatures to formal family portraits, artist Jane Morrision can quickly draw a memorable moment. On the spot drawings of individuals, couples, or groups. Portraits are drawn in charcoal, and take about thirty minutes. Caricatures are drawn in colored markers and take about ten minutes. Stop by the Old Town Hall from 5 - 8 PM for a setting. You also can drop off a family photo or photos to have reproduced as a hand-drawn illustation. |
