Artist:
Brigita Fuhrmann - Block Prints
Medium:
Printmaking
Venue:
Easthampton City Arts
Address:
43 Main St.
Event:
Brigita’s personal style is a unification of the strong classical training she received in the Czech Republic and the freedom of expression she experienced when she began painting in the United States. “When I see a person or inanimate object, I not only see them, but also experience viscerally the movement and vitality inherent in them. My figurative work captures the movement I feel in the figures as they interact with one another”.

For this exhibit Brigita selected a series of color and black and white hand-pulled linocut block prints, a technique that she has explored over the past two decades. The predominant theme of the prints portrays the dynamic movement of dance.

Print: Dance #5

Artist:
Caleb Colon
Medium:
Painting - Oil
Venue:
Nashawannuck Gallery
Address:
40 Cottage St
Event:
'Easthampton: A Clock'

While familiarizing myself with Easthampton and finding sites of interest that spoke of the town, I noticed the town had a predominately cyclic sense to it. The neighboring mountain acts as a sun dial, the road’s geographical relationships with the highways and surrounding towns , the annual and monthly events, the night life, etc, all set the stage for clock work vibes. These vibes are what I tried to depict in my body of work.
