Artist: Danielle and Austin Federa |
Medium: Photography |
|
Venue:
The Cellar Bar |
Address: 95 Main St. |
Event: AUSTIN FEDERA is a sophomore at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, and heralds from Amherst, Massachusetts. He has been photographing since age 12. His art reflects the structure of loneliness and isolation found in nature and those same elements mirrored in artificial structures. The collection is a tribute to these elements and a means of creating an artistic interpretation of individuality.
His mother,DANIELLE FEDERA has lived in the Pioneer Valley for over 30 years. A resident of Amherst, she explores the edges and boundaries of nature in her search for the “essential”. This search is particularly rewarding in winter when nature’s extremes are on display. Colors range from brilliant to monochromatic; light presents as gloriously pure or deeply veiled; and forms are revealed in architectural simplicity. The winterscape is beautiful, yet, on some level, foreboding. We may appreciate; but stand back in recognition of the powers that sculpt the very forms that attracts us.
