Artist: 4th Annual Easthampton Paint Out Medium: Painting Venue: Nashawannuck Gallery Address: 40 Cottage St Event: Come and be a witness to the transformation of Easthampton as artists from across the state and beyond descend upon town to set up their easels and paint during the 4th Annual Easthampton Paint Out! Approximately 40-50 painters will be painting 'en plein air,' meaning 'in the open air,' within the city limits of Easthampton from September 3-10. The public is invited, encouraged even, to locate, stop and watch the painters throughout the week.The finished artwork will be unveiled during an artist reception and award ceremony during the popular Art Walk Easthampton, on Saturday, September 10, 5-8 p.m. and will remain on exhibit at The Nashawannuck Gallery through September 24. Colorfully painted, Jones enlarges her subject matter on the canvas exemplifying the beauty of the small animals. Artist: Trace Meek Medium: Photography Venue: White Square Address: 86 Cottage Street Event: Resident of Easthampton since 2000, web designer by vocation, and artist by bent, Trace Meek trains his various cameras on landscapes, urbanscapes, the New England seasons, juxtaposed funky objects, and whatever else captures his attention in a pursuit he dubs, 'Of the Moment.' For reasons not entirely clear to him, human subjects do not figure prominently in his current crop of work, though he does consider that humanity is represented indirectly through images of architecture, and other ways that we shape our environment.
