Artist: Hannah Richards |
Medium: Mixed Media |
|
Venue:
White Square |
Address: 86 Cottage Street |
Event: HANNAH RICHARDS' work explores states of fragmentation that create tensions in the relationship of the parts to the whole in terms of material, space, and metaphor. Pursuing issues of time, duration and accumulation, her work incorporates large drawings, installation, and video. Process is central to her work. The materials, though variable, share a quality of accessibility and simplicity, all while valuing the tactile transformation of selected materials such as white glue drying to form a solid dimensional form of its own, or paper pulp setting in clumps and ripples, pins marking imagined territories, and the straightforward quality of pencil to paper. |

|
Venue:
White Square Event Time: 6-7 p.m. |
Address: 86 Cottage Street |
Event: BROWN BIRD's latest album, 'Salt For Salt' captures the intense energy of the duo's live show, surging in waves that swell into high-spirited, foot-stomping madness. David Lamb and MorganEve Swain write simply. Their record is eerily sparse at times - a tambourine, a bass drum and the cello are often the sole accompaniment to Lamb's cracked, wood-smoke voice.
